Food & Drink
The Romanian narional drink, Tzuica is somewhat more fiery in Transylvania
with varieties made of plums, pears or grapes. Our Tzuicas are home made
by members of the club and are served without charge before meals as Romanians
do or after meals according with Western custom (e.g.Grappa and coffee
in Italy).
A typical lunch or dinner at the club restaurant, included in the price
of your holiday can be:

First Course: Ciorba Soup with chicken, vegetables and Tarragon
Main Course: Pork or beef stew, polenta, side salad
Dessert: Apple cake or ice-cream with forrest fruit
Drinks: Tzuica, Mineral Water, Soft Drinks, House wine, Coffee
On the Trail:
Evening meals will include local specilities and surprises cooked by
our hosts where we will spend the night such as: lamb cooked in butter,
a variety of ciorba soups, bulz (polenta cooked with milk, butter and
cheese, served with cream), stews, sarmale (rolled stuffed cabbage), or
charcoal grills, fruit, pancakes, donuts, etc. Tzuica, wine and soft drinks
with every meal.
Lunch is a formality on the move, a sandwich or a pack of biscuits and
drink whilst your horse and you have a rest at the edge of the forrest.
Before setting off, our hosts will serve a substantial, cooked breakfast.
